CLINICAL PILATES (FUNCTIONAL PHYSIOTHERAPY)
WHAT IS CLINICAL PILATES (FUNCTIONAL PHYSIOTHERAPY)?
Clinical Pilates (Functional physiotherapy) is a form of exercise therapy that focuses on core strengthening and flexibility and restoration of posture, balance, coordination and breathing control. It assists with greater overall health, improves your stability, assists with rehabilitation post-surgery or post-injury, helps with injury prevention, enhances your balance and coordination, helps with postural alignment and reduces neck and back pain.
At The Physio Hub, these sessions, run by a fully qualified physiotherapist, utilise Physio and Pilates equipment including reformers, trapeze table, wobble boards, free weights, therabands, fit balls and foam rollers.
Clinical Pilates (Functional Physiotherapy) is often prescribed to complement the treatment of injuries or other exercise programs, whether you are a runner, footballer, dancer, a recreational walker, or are tentatively commencing or returning to exercise! As a low impact exercise, Clinical Pilates (Functional Physiotherapy) is a great way to strengthen weak muscles and improve poor posture, and by retraining the way you carry out everyday activities, ensures the benefits gained transfer into daily life.

WHY CHOOSE CLINICAL PILATES (FUNCTIONAL PHYSIOTHERAPY) WITH A PHYSIOTHERAPIST??

Most gyms and exercise studios now offer big group Pilates/Reformer classes…..so with so many options around, why would you choose Clinical Pilates (Functional Physiotherapy) at The Physio Hub??
Your exercise journey at The Physio Hub begins with a one-one-one assessment session with your Physiotherapist. This is to take a detailed history (including past history of injuries, medical history, past and current exercise history), and a relevant and specific physical assessment. You will also be introduced to some of the equipment that is used. Your physiotherapist will then use this information, together will your aims and goals, to create a personalised, progressive exercise program just for you. Where appropriate, you can then either join a Clinical Pilates (Functional Physiotherapy) group session (50mins) or continue with one-on-one sessions.
Small group sessions have a maximum of 3 clients to ensure personalised attention as you are guided through your individual program, to ensure correct technique and appropriate progression.
